Without Patricio
One day, walking through Buenos Aires, Walter Veltroni saw writing on a wall. Four simple words traced with paint: Patricio te amo. Papá. It is unusual to see a graffito dedicated by a father to a son and Veltroni imagined a series of stories that could have produced that gesture. They are stories about a bloody past, about oppression and torture, but also about popular myths such as football and the tango. They are tales about the anxieties and aspirations of the men and women of our time: the need to act against injustice, the yearning to give a wholly human meaning to existence, or to find a God in whose name we can work to help people. And a tribute to the love between fathers and sons. First ed. Rizzoli 2004.
