Eliana Liotta
Eliana Liotta is a professional journalist, author of scientific bestsellers, university lecturer and speaker.
Her book La Dieta Smartfood (Rizzoli), with the scientific certification of the Ieo-European Institute of Oncology, dedicated to nutrigenomics, was among the fifty best-selling books in Italy in 2016 and has been translated in over 20 countries, from South Korea to Brazil. Also for Rizzoli, he wrote Le ricette Smartfood, a spin-off of the best seller, and Il bene delle donne, together with breast surgeon Paolo Veronesi.
For La nave di Teseo he has published other successful books: L'età non è uguale per tutti (Age is not the same for everyone), with the advice of specialists from the Humanitas University Hospital, Prove di felicità, La rivolta della natura. From the book Il cibo che ci salverà - La svolta ecologica a tavola per il pianeta e la salute (The food that will save us - The ecological turn at the table for the planet and health), in a team with the European Institute for Economics and the Environment, he has adapted five monologues aired on Rai 1 and available on Raiplay.
Her essay, La vita non è una corsa (La nave di Teseo), was written in collaboration with Milan's San Raffaele University and Hospital, and was presented at the Taipei International Book Exhibition, where the author was invited to represent Italy, the guest of honour at the 2025 edition.
Eliana Liotta has conceived and directed the publishing series Science for Life at Sonzogno (Marsilio Feltrinelli group) since 2020. She has published 18 books by renowned researchers and doctors. These include the bestsellers La pancia lo sa by gastroenterologist Silvio Danese and Il talento del cervello and La fioritura dei neuroni by neuroscientist Michela Matteoli.
Eliana Liotta writes two columns in Corriere della Sera: one in the Sunday health pages (‘Smart tips’) and one in the Saturday supplement Io Donna. She has also recorded two podcast series entitled ‘Il bene che mi voglio’ for Io Donna - Corriere della Sera.
She is editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine and website BenEssere (San Paolo editions).
In the past, she was editor in Rcs of the monthly OK Salute and deputy editor of the weekly Oggi.
For the past four years she has been teaching the course in Publishing at the highly specialised Master's in Science and Health Communication at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, where she is an adjunct lecturer.
For years she has been called upon to give lectures on scientific publishing at the Master Cose (University Master's in Scientific Communication) at the University of Parma.
She is often invited as a speaker at festivals, company meetings and training courses, where she speaks on panels or with her own lectures on life and health sciences, or as a moderator at events and conferences.
Her many awards include the Montale prize for non-fiction and the Premiolino, Italy's oldest journalism award.
Eliana Liotta lives in Milan, is married and has twin children, Leandro and Lavinia.
